Life at the Kratt Brothers' Creature Refuge 'Grizzly Gulch'

Hear first-hand about life at the Kratt Brothers' first wildlife refuge 'Grizzly Gulch' from third-generation rancher and Creaturefuge Manager Karl Rappold.

The Kratt Brothers Creature Hero Foundation launched their first wildlife refuge (also known as ‘Creaturefuge’) back in the year 2000! This was after thousands of Creature Adventurers and fans of the Kratt Brothers’ shows had reached out to them on how they could help protect animals.

The Brothers quickly got to action and they formed the Kratt Brothers Creature Hero Foundation to empower their young fans. A wide-ranging poll was put out which helped focus the efforts on protecting grizzly bears and other North American creatures. The Creature Hero Foundation then partnered with kids, families, the Gap Foundation, Old Navy, and the Nature Conservancy to purchase and protect 1,670+ acres of critical wildlife habitat on the Rocky Mountain Front directly southeast of Glacier National Park. The Brothers named it, Grizzly Gulch!

In this video rancher and Creaturefuge Manager Karl Rappold describes what life is like out on the Rocky Mountain Front and also gives us a look at some of the amazing creatures that call the beautiful landscape of Grizzly Gulch home!
